Project description and objectives
A business group from Eastern Europe, owning a chemical plant that produced bromine with a wide range of industrial applications - including oil and gas drilling - was seeking a strategic investor for €42 million in exchange for a controlling minority stake to accelerate its growth and international expansion.
The group was seeking an investor ready to provide liquidity along with strategic guidance for entering international markets and access to key regional industrial buyers in the GCC.
Accomplishments
The project was included as part of a portfolio presented during a regional roadshow covering Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait, alongside three other client projects without their direct presence.
The goal of this initial step was to gauge preliminary investor interest and connect clients with those who showed genuine interest in their specific projects.
In total, the investment presentation was shown to 36 investors who expressed initial interest.
The chemical production project attracted interest from a few institutional investors and one strategic partner who was ready to act as a reseller of their products in the GCC.
Following the initial meetings, one interested institutional investor from Kuwait began discussions by requesting the company's financial statements, detailed product specifications, export statistics, and a list of key clients.
Project objectives met
36 meetings with potential investors in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait were organized.
Success criteria met
The deal came to the pre-due diligence stage. The investors decided not to proceed with it.
